Three Decades of VES and INFICON

Founded in 1994 by former Leybold colleagues in Trafford Park, Manchester, VES built a solid foundation that paved the way for our future partnership. This strong start allowed VES to adapt to the vacuum technology industry’s evolving demands, maintaining our edge through innovation, quality, and collaboration.

From Innovation to Independence

INFICON was founded in Syracuse, New York, by scientists and engineers from General Electric and Syracuse University, who developed a halogen leak detector in 1969. Acquired by Leybold in 1976, INFICON was spun off in 2000, becoming a publicly owned organization once again..

Our plans for the next decade are ambitious, focusing on the deeper integration of AI technologies, expanding into new leak test markets, and maintaining a strong emphasis on sustainable practices. The success of our partnership isn’t solely measured by financial growth or market share but by the enduring relationship we have cultivated as our companies have evolved together.

Adaptability has been a cornerstone of our enduring partnership, allowing us to embrace change and pivot towards emerging consumer trends, technologies, and expectations. By continually reassessing our strategies and aligning our goals, we ensure that we stay at the cutting edge of leak test innovation, meeting the needs of an ever-changing market.
