VES are a niche technology company operating globally in the Automotive, New Energies, HVAC, Fire Extinguisher and Medical Device industries to provide customised helium leak testing machinery. At present circa 90 employees across the globe work to design, manufacture and support turnkey solutions to some of the world’s most recognised manufacturing groups. HQ is based in Manchester, UK with other locations based across Europe, USA and Mexico.
The Role
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Technical Sales Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will drive sales growth by identifying and engaging with customers across the EU and UK, delivering tailored solutions and managing the entire sales cycle for CAPEX equipment. This role is externally focused, requiring frequent travel to client sites, trade shows and industry events. This is a diverse roll that will suit a dynamic and energetic individual who is technically qualified, commercially savvy, target orientated, communicative and looking to take a step forward in their career.
Key responsibilities
- Sales Development: Identify, target and acquire new customers while managing relationships with existing accounts to expand market share
- Solution Selling: Work closely with clients to understand their technical needs and propose tailored solutions leveraging the company’s CAPEX equipment portfolio
- Technical Expertise: Provide in-depth product knowledge and technical support during customer engagements, including demonstrations and presentations
- Proposal Management: Prepare and deliver compelling proposals, quotes and contracts, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and company goals
- Market Research: Monitor industry trends, competitors and market opportunities to inform strategic decision-making
- Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with engineering, product development and customer support teams to ensure seamless delivery and customer satisfaction
- Travel: Frequently visit customer sites, attend trade shows and represent the company at industry events
The Candidate
- A background and qualification in engineering is highly preferred
- Strong understanding of the EU and UK markets
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to understand and articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Results-oriented mindset
- Willingness to travel extensively across the EU and UK
