Randall, one of our senior Project Engineers based in the USA was in our Manchester manufacturing facility recently working on a series of helium leak test systems designed to accommodate testing aluminium coils for use in HVAC systems.
The vacuum chambers have been designed to accommodate future aluminium coil design changes, with each leak test system being produced for each aluminium coil production line. The vacuum pumps, mass spectrometer, valve cabinet and electrical cabinet will be mounted and positioned behind the chamber, suitably positioned and built for easy and convenient access for service and maintenance purposes.
The conveyors allow the operator to make quick and safe connections to the aluminium coils. Each chamber has a hand-held bar code scanner that interfaces with the data collection system. The systems are equipped with remote monitoring for online troubleshooting and maintenance.
The five single chamber leak detection systems are being produced for a truly global leading innovator and provider of high quality air conditioning units for residential, commercial and industrial applications.
The systems will be installed at a major manufacturing facility in Texas and commissioned over weekends to prevent interruption to existing production.
