The Euro 7 regulations are the latest in a series of European Union standards designed to reduce air pollutant emissions from vehicles.
Officially published as Regulation (EU) 2024/1257, Euro 7 does not introduce specific new leak testing procedures for fuel tanks.
However, the regulation’s emphasis on lower emissions, extended durability and enhanced monitoring suggests that rigorous leak testing during manufacturing will remain a vital aspect of ensuring compliance with the evaporative emission standards throughout the vehicle’s extended lifespan.
Fuel tank manufacturers will likely need to maintain and potentially enhance their current leak testing protocols to meet these evolving demands.
For over 30 years our engineers have designed customised leak detection systems, providing accurate and effective leak testing for fuel tanks, fuel lines, fuel systems, air springs, air-conditioning and radiators – crucial to ensure compliance with these limits.
Any leaks, even small ones, can contribute to exceeding the allowed evaporative emissions over the vehicle’s lifespan, now extended under Euro 7.
