We are seeking a hands-on Sales Manager to lead UK and European sales activity, with a strong focus on front-end execution, pipeline generation, and account management. The role places clear emphasis on hands-on sales execution, team development, and robust commercial discipline.

The Sales Manager will be accountable for order intake, pipeline development, customer relationships, and sales process consistency, while developing the capability of the existing sales team.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Execution & Pipeline Development

  • Drive UK & Europe order intake through active pipeline generation and conversion
  • Lead and support key opportunities from early engagement through to order closure
  • Ensure strong pipeline coverage and structured opportunity management
  • Maintain regular engagement with key and target customers

Account Management & Customer Focus

  • Own and develop relationships with key customers and strategic accounts
  • Implement structured account management practices across the team
  • Ensure high levels of responsiveness and customer satisfaction
  • Develop opportunities within the existing customer base

Team Coaching & Sales Discipline

  • Line manage and support a team of sales engineers
  • Coach the team on sales fundamentals, opportunity qualification, and customer engagement
  • Embed consistent ways of working across the sales team
  • Drive adoption and effective use of CRM tools

Process, Forecasting & Visibility

  • Improve pipeline visibility, reporting accuracy, and forecasting discipline
  • Ensure consistent use of sales processes and governance
  • Provide clear and regular updates on pipeline, risks, and opportunities
  • Commercial Focus
  • Support value-based selling and alignment with pricing guidelines
  • Work with engineering and operations to ensure clear scope definition and realistic commitments

The Candidate

  • Experience in technical or engineered product sales (CAPEX experience beneficial but not essential)
  • Strong track record in sales execution, pipeline management, and customer engagement
  • Experience managing or mentoring sales teams
  • Commercially aware with an understanding of pricing and margin fundamentals
  • Structured, organised and disciplined in approach to sales
  • Strong communication and customer-facing skills
  • Comfortable working in an international environment
  • Experience in HVAC or Automotive CAPEX sales environments is preferred

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary circa £70,000, depending on experience
  • Performance-related variable pay (circa 25% of base salary)

Experience:

  • HVAC or Automotive CAPEX: 1 year (preferred)
  • working with OEMs or Tier 1 customers: 1 year (preferred)
